Blake Griffin injures hand in Toronto restaurant fight with team employee

Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin is suspected to have fractured his right hand in a fight with a member of the team's equipment staff at a restaurant in Toronto, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed to USA TODAY Sports.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the situation.
According to the person, Griffin and a member of the team's equipment staff were both sent back to Los Angeles following the incident. Griffin, who has been out since Dec. 26 with a torn quadriceps, is likely to miss several more weeks with the hand injury.
The Clippers are 11-3 without Griffin, who was with the Clippers on the road trip and was close to rejoining the team before the hand injury. In Indiana, where the Clippers will play the Pacers on Tuesday night, coach Doc Rivers told reporters that the team would issue a statement before the game.
Griffin is averaging 23.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and five assists this season, and the Clippers (28-16) are fourth place in the Western Conference. ESPN first reported Griffin's injury.
This isn't the first time Griffin has had trouble while being out. In October of 2014, he was accused of slapping a man and taking his cellphone at a Las Vegas Strip nightclub. The misdemeanor charge was later dropped.
